The BIM Virtual Design and Construction Engineer works closely with the BIM Manager and the District to implement BIM within the program.


The BIM VDC Engineer is responsible for:
  • Monitoring and reconciling the Design and Construction Team’s submittal data related to BIM and asset tracking.
  • Review VDC/BIM scope of work for contractual compliance for Bond affected facilities and infrastructure. This may include, but is not limited to, the following activities:
    • Review and upload equipment data from completed As Built to CMMS.
    • Review VDC/BIM scope of work for contractual compliance
  • Managing and maintaining as-built information related to Bond affected projects. This may include, but is not limited to, researching data or documents in SharePoint, DocView, Proliance, BIM360 or another accessible data source, to produce files or reports such as:
    • CAD/BIM As-Built drawings.
  • BIM/CADD standards compliance review.
    • Collaborate with District teams to ensure FM data needs are met for CMMs use
    • Participate in the continuous implementation of the District BIM standards.
    • Work with PMO and CPT teams to guide and ensure that BIM requirements are meet scope of services based on the project needs
  • Supporting As-Built/M&O data delivery review at Ops Closeout for current Bond projects. This may include, but is not limited to, the following activities:
    • Provide support to CPT/PMO to ensure BIM and non BIM projects meet District standards
    • Review CAD/BIM as-built drawings for compliance and completeness
    • Review FM BIM data for Cobie and Omniclass standard compliance and completeness
  • SharePoint record drawings database Support for the District
    • Research for drawings, warranties, specification, operation manuals and survey data
  • Provide BIM Submittal tracking
    • Review submittals to ensure compliance with District standards and BIM scope of services.
    • BIM submittal coordination between college project teams and design/construction teams.
    • BIM 360 Model reviews/work flowing/administration
  • Communication
    • Attend virtual coordination meeting/kick off
    • Direct communication via phone and emails with CPT, Design and Construction teams
    • Reporting and tracking to BIM manager weekly
  • Provide support as requested for ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS online platforms
  • Review GIS and BIM deliverables for ArcGIS online integration.
  • Visit colleges as requested. Interface with college project teams.
  • Provide supplemental modeling as requested by CPT/District/PMO and help manage District BIM model database
  • Provide LiDAR scanning of current projects for QA/QC review
  • Manage and link scan database to coordination and design models.
     
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years’ recent experience in working in Architecture or Construction Management, with a specific focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related degree. Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
  • Knowledge/proficiency working and utilizing BIM for 4D and project coordination/clash detection.
  • Knowledge/proficiency performing modeling and coordination task within Revit / Navisworks /AutoCAD/Autodesk Recap/BIM360
  • Experience with LiDAR and Photogrammetry
  • Experience/knowledge performing data management task within SharePoint/BIM360 Docs/Bluebeam.
  • Experience working with Design and Construction Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Required well-rounded experience working with Design and Construction Teams.
  • Experience working with Engineers, Architects and Contractors
  • Strong knowledge of BIM workflows
  • Experience knowledge to perform data management task within SharePoint/BIM360 Docs/Bluebeam.
  • Experience managing submittals and CCDs/RFIs
  • Experience knowledge to perform field survey and data collection with LiDAR scanner.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $120-130K. This will be dependent on the experience, expertise, and geographic location of the incoming candidate.
