Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Division President, Vice President, and Directors to craft and execute a dynamic growth plan for Northern CA, driving client outreach goals.
  • Cultivate and develop client relationships, maintaining a close connection throughout and beyond project completion.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Engineering Leadership to align operations with strategic priorities, focusing on engineering excellence in Northern CA.
  • Negotiate advantageous contract terms, manage cost of sales, and achieve financial and business goals.
  • Proactively foster talent development, retention, and recruitment, ensuring high team morale.
  • Engage in local professional activities to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation.
  • Hold signing authority for projects up to $1M.
  • Develop relationships with senior leadership and external clients.
  • Exercise decision-making with significant impact on regional success, engineering business line, and overall project operations.

Your Impact:

  • Directly oversee Northern CA Project Managers, indirectly influencing all engineering employees in Salinas, Concord, and Sacramento offices.
  • Shape region budgets, meeting revenue and profit goals with accountability for $2M-$3M in revenue.
  • Establish and implement sales goals using the Harris Client Management Process.
  • Define utilization goals for staff in Salinas, Concord, and Sacramento.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • 16+ years of Civil Engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles
  • Focus on Water (Potable, Sanitary, Storm, or Recycle) is preferred
  • California PE certification
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering designs for water resources projects
  • Familiarity with local/municipal clients
  • Expertise in client management and business development processes
  • Sound knowledge of key financial metrics and proven results delivery
  • Demonstrated business development and operational experience in water engineering
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, complex work environment
  • Experience in hiring and managing a diverse technical and business development staff

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $185,000-$240,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
