Senior Water Master Planner

Harris has an immediate opening for a highly talented Water Master Planner Project Manager in our Water Consulting business unit. This position provides an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in expanding the water master planning business at Harris. Projects in the water, wastewater, stormwater markets will focus on master planning, hydraulic modeling, capital improvement development, operations and maintenance assessments, and utility organizational capacity. We are looking for someone who is passionate about master planning and helping our clients create sustainable futures for their communities.

A candidate at a Senior Project Manager level will be considered depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities & Duties

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Project management of projects including water, wastewater, and storm water master planning related projects
Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project
Performs engineering design calculations, including demand forecasting and hydraulic modeling, clearly documenting methodology and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
Develops capital improvement programs
Interacts with clients and other team members to deliver project and engage in marketing activities for future projects
Guide, develop and mentors project team staff
Delivers projects in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision

Additional Senior Project Manager Responsibilities & Duties

Provide leadership and oversee multiple projects using project management principles
Serve as a client facing consultant working in concert with client staff and other key stakeholders
Participate in client management activities including attending active attendance at conferences and in professional organizations; preparation of proposals and interview preparation; may serve as the primary client point of contact
Client engagement and satisfaction
Engages, develops and motivates internal staff within their group

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering degree required
Professional Engineer license required, California preferred
Minimum 8 years relevant municipal water, wastewater, stormwater master planning experience
Knowledge of municipal design in water, wastewater, stormwater markets
Proven Project Management experience with demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver on time and within budget, Prefer Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Effective written and oral communications with team members and clients
Demonstrated experience delivering presentations to various groups
Proficient in hydraulic modeling software, AutoCAD and Civil 3-D and MS Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to work with clients to provide long-term solutions and maintain/develop strong client relationships

Additional Senior Project Manager Qualifications & Skills

Masters of Science, Masters of Business Administration or equivalent experience
Supervisory experience of direct reports, responsible for their growth and development
