Project Controls Analyst

Harris is looking for a full-time, skilled Project Controls Analyst to work within the Project Management Office to assist with daily operations including project financial analysis and reporting; updating project schedules and resource plans; coordinating monthly project reviews; developing documentation; training on project best practices; and assisting the Sr. Director of the Project Management Office as needed. This position is located at our headquarters in Concord, CA.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide support to approximately 75 Directors and Project Managers located across the firm
  • Ensure project performance and controls conform to company policies, standards, business processes, and best practices
  • Develop and update project resource plans, including schedules, labor, expense, and subconsultant costs
  • Support training project staff on project management best practices, including planning, monitoring, and controlling scope, schedule, budgets, and risks.
  • Monitor and perform project financial analysis and reporting
  • Coordinate and support monthly project reviews
  • Develop and update project management policies and procedures documentation
  • Proofread documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, style, etc.
  • Occasionally interface with clients

 Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, finance, planning, construction management, or related field
  • At least 4+ years of experience planning and controlling projects in accordance with PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) practices.
  • Proficient in the larger Microsoft Office suite with expertise in MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint or comparable financial/project management software is preferred
  • Knowledge of project accounting and invoicing practices for the AEC industry is a plus
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, organization, verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style with the ability to solve problems independently
  • Ability to manage time wisely, multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work well under time constraints
