I.T. Systems Specialist

Harris & Associates is looking for an IT Systems Specialist to join our Information Technology Team in Northern California.

What you’ll be doing

At Harris & Associates, you will have the opportunity to work with up to date technology and use your skills to help improve our digital investments by making it easier for staff to perform their jobs by using technology. Your primary focus is deploying and maintaining end user devices and the software installed on them. You communicate clearly and interact with end users in a positive manner and are equally effective in person and remotely.

All in a day’s work

On a day to day basis, you manage our service desk requests to ensure end user technologies are working properly.  You carefully document solutions and keep our asset management database up to date including an inventory of desktop images

You regularly monitor the various alerting systems for any issues and take action when issues are identified, ensure patches are installed in a timely manner and anti-virus definitions are current.

Part of your day is spent helping end users get the most out of our technology including cloud based applications like Office 365, Skype for Business, Deltek Vision, Newforma Project Center, Dropbox for Business and other AEC Industry solutions.

Beyond that, anything could happen!  As part of the IT team you help support and troubleshoot a broad set of technologies including networks, servers, operating systems, monitoring/alerting systems, on premise and cloud based application software, and peripheral equipment.

Naturally, there is a lot to learn and you will have access to variety of training resources as well as access to experts to help you guide you through complex technology challenges.

About You

What you’ll need

  • You’ll ideally have at least 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • You’ll ideally have a Bachelor’s degree in data processing, computer science, or a closely related field, and minor course work in business principles.
  • You’ll be passionate with the curiosity and creativity to identify and solve problems and improve our processes
  • You’ll have the ability to get things done in a fast-paced unstructured setting
  • You’ll want to stretch and inspire us, speaking up about any new ideas you have
  • You’ll have confidence to work under pressure with the ability to prioritize and plan effectively
  • You’ll know it is important to keep everyone in the loop and will demonstrate this through excellent communication skills
  • You’ll have a valid California Driver’s License and a good driving record.
