Graphic Designer

Harris & Associates is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Marketing & Communications team in Concord, CA. Our ideal team player will lead the creation and production of graphics and communications deliverables which advance Harris’ brand as a leading provider of construction and civil design services across the West Coast. We are a small, but driven team that supports all aspects of Harris’ marketing, communications and business development efforts, and we need a technically proficient, inquisitive and creative problem solver who places a premium on aesthetics to join our team.



  • Design, update and format presentations, brochures, quarterly reports, project award submissions, internal communications materials, and other marketing collateral
  • Produce infographics, charts and layouts for project proposals and statements of qualifications
  • Create artwork for promotional materials and special events
  • Ensure a creative yet consistent look that adheres to and supports the Harris brand
  • Coordinate printing needs and communicate with vendors
  • Research, design, and procure promotional items that represent the Harris brand
  • Assist in production of newsletters and email blasts
  • Support efforts in maintaining and updating firm’s website, blog, social media channels and company intranet
  • Execute within established time guidelines
  • Provide feedback and solutions to design problems
  • Manage graphics projects across a variety of stakeholders


  • ​Degree or certificate in Graphic Design or Visual Communications
  • 2-3 years of experience working in a professional consulting or AEC field
  • Expert-level proficiency in the core Adobe Creative Cloud products: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint
  • Thorough understanding of graphic design principles and visual communications best practices
  • The ability to ask effective questions and discover design goals across a variety of technical backgrounds
  • Strong project management, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and able to function at a high performance level on a tight schedule
  • Superior attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent presentation, communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting

  • Experience working with the RFP and proposals processes
  • A hunger to learn and grow as a professional
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Front-end web development experience: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • GIS and/or AutoCAD
